Step 6 — Vehicle

Purpose

Link the physical vehicle or product to the customer's new subscription by scanning its QR code. This ensures the correct asset is assigned to the right customer.


Workflow

  1. The salesperson locates the QR code on the physical vehicle or product.
  2. They scan it using the in-app camera.
  3. The app validates the QR code and links the vehicle to the customer's subscription in the backend.

UI Behavior

  • A scan area with clear visual guidance for QR placement is displayed
  • A Tap to Scan call-to-action prompts the salesperson
  • Once scanned, the vehicle details (ID, type) are shown for confirmation
  • A success indicator confirms the vehicle has been linked

What Gets Recorded

Field Description
Vehicle ID Unique identifier from the QR code
Subscription link The vehicle is tied to the customer's active subscription

Error Handling

  • QR code unreadable — retry scan; ensure the QR code is clean and well-lit
  • Vehicle already assigned — the app shows an error; the salesperson should verify the correct vehicle
  • Camera permission denied — the app guides the salesperson to enable camera access

Actions

  • Continue proceeds to Step 7 — Battery
  • Back returns to Step 5 — Payment
